Shift: 12-hour rotating shift

Hours: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm / 7:00 pm - 7:00 am

Performs a variety of operations primarily involving the preparation of equipment and components used during the aseptic filling of plasma products. Predominant activities will include: operation of autoclaves, assembling, testing, inspecting, wrapping, and sterilization of fill equipment prior to each fill and disassembly and cleaning of all fill equipment after each fill.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs all duties of Aseptic Filling Equipment Prep Technician II

  • Assist in training of other Aseptic Filling Equipment Prep Technicians and Support operators

  • Assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting equipment to minimize line downtime

Additional Responsibiliites:

Assembly of this equipment requires much attention to detail such as proper orifice/needle based on fill size, and equipment part numbers for equipment that is dedicated to specific fill lines. This will also include monitoring the daily fill schedule and ensuring that proper fill equipment and components are prepared and are available for each fill, maintaining sufficient inventory of sterilized stoppers in fill rooms for scheduled fills, high levels of housekeeping to conform to cGMP standards, cleaning and sanitizing aseptic filling areas and surrounding areas to maintain the quality of the product, and performing operations during fills by following proper procedures. Must be able to operate all fill line equipment outside of the aseptic filling environment in support of product fills such as bottle rinsers, bottle sterilizers, oversealers, cage loaders, cage rinsers, etc. Operation of this equipment will include setup and change-over for various bottle sizes. Operation of this equipment is performed through the use of computer terminals and will also include monitoring and reviewing computer trends and electronic data to assist in trouble-shooting. Must be able to inspect incoming glass bottles on a production line for defects. Must be able to perform in the aseptic filling areas while maintaining the integrity and cleanliness of these areas by utilizing special gowning requirements and techniques. Job responsibilities also include detailed and accurate documentation in batch production records. Technician I level position requires typically NLT 1 year at operator level and must meet advancement requirements as specified for this position by area management.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Chemistry or Biology courses beyond high school are preferred. A minimum of 3 years pharmaceutical experience is required for the Tech I position; 1 year of which must be completed as a Tech II

Skills:

Must possess a good math and mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform skills in a aseptic environment. Production work experience in a high volume manufacturing environment is desired. Must be able to function in an aseptic environment while maintaining the sterility of the product. Able to work effectively and efficiently as a member of a team. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. Continuous standing, walking and some bending is required. Off shift and overtime work may be necessary.
