Provides higher level expertise as part of the Global Response Team supporting the analytical procedures, methods, and/or processes related to new, existing or revised Instrumentation and Systems products distributed and supported by Grifols.

Primary Responsibilities for Role:

  • Works with GRT members’ development to enhance product subject matter expertise in the areas of Instrumentation and Systems.

  • Assists with creation of individual talent development plans and career paths for GRT, monitors progress of execution, and evaluates the effectiveness of the plans.

  • Provides expertise for Instrumentation and Systems investigations of escalated field issues to identify the root cause and assess the product impact by the potential defects. Determine immediate and long-term resolution options.

  • Works with GRT to develop and implement systems for streamlining Instrumentation and Systems escalation investigation in order to comply with complaint investigation closure metrics.

  • Provides Technical Proficiency Assessment to field personnel as needed.

  • Provides Field Service Engineer Training on all NAT and IH Grifols Instrumentation.

  • Oversees regional personnel performing Grifols’ Instrument recertification.

  • Works with QA to reduce investigation time and closure.

  • Provides subject matter expertise for members of multifunctional teams on performance and complaint investigation of NAT and IH products.

  • Works effectively with Global Response Team Members to contribute to building a network of internal and external collaborators with appropriate product expertise.

  • Communicates effectively with vendors to achieve collaboration and develop mutually acceptable ap-proaches for efficient product problem investigation and resolution to meet customer expectations.

  • Serves as subject matter expert on project teams to assess needs and provides technical content to support product commercialization activities.

  • Oversees investigation and validation activities in a functioning Global Response Team laboratory.

  • Facilitates the development of supporting materials for product engineering change activities.

Additional Responsibilities:

Completion of root cause investigation activities for escalated product complaints I product failures. Measure % of time task is completed within assigned target dates.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with NAT and IH technology is a plus

  • Familiarity of GMP, ISO and other certifying agencies' require-ments

  • Experience with Quality Systems directly related to product life cycle management

  • Expertise in troubleshooting and resolution of product perfor-mance issues

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication

Education:

BS degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical, Computer Science or related technical or science discipline or equivalent is required, MS degree is a plus.

Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Medical/Clinical Instru-mentation, Software Systems/Applications in Blood Banking, medical device industry or medical diagnostic field.

Equivalency:

Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.

Occasional travel with field service engineer personnel is required to gather functional and technical knowledge, as well as to understand non-classroom skills required to function at a high level of competency in the Field Service Engineer role. This includes the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, (lifting and moving of equipment for installation and preventative maintenance.)
