Assist with the day-to-day operations with supervisory oversite of Academy staff and adjunct instructors for the Academy of Plasmapheresis. Delivers training material in accordance with accepted principles of adult learning.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assists in the creation of the annual training calendar which includes allocating resources, scheduling instructors, and communicating with course participants.

  • Assists with the development of training courses following accepted adult learning theories based on organizational needs and objectives and ensuring compliance to accreditation policies.

  • Monitors and maintains necessary inventory of training materials and equipment and delivers training courses and material to a variety of audiences.

  • Has indirect oversite of Administrative Training Specialist and directs daily activities including, the upkeep of the facility through preventative maintenance and "as needed" repairs, in the absence of the Associate Director.

  • Communicates with field and corporate personnel for classroom offerings, registration requirements, and course follow up activities as needed.

  • Assists in the presentation creation and development of departmental reports related to facility usage, attendance statistics, and other forecasts as requested, for the monthly, quarterly and annual reports as well as all Academy Board slide decks.

  • Assists with management of facility budget to ensure proper allocation of expenses.

  • Directs the upkeep of the facility through preventive maintenance and as-needed repairs.

  • Travels to off-site locations to host and conduct training facilitation of Academy courses/programs.

  • Perform Instructor evaluations on an annual basis and assist with the development and delivery of New Instructor Orientation training and the instructor annual in-service training.

Requirements and Additional Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Training and Development, Instructional Design, or related field.

  • Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of training and development experience, including experience managing a staff.

  • Expert knowledge of adult learning theory. Expert skills in MS office. Strong skills with audio video equipment for presentations including TV, VCR, LCD projector with laptop. Advanced facilitation, written and verbal communication skills. Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, including the ability to perform root cause analysis. Ability to function in a demanding environment. Ability to collaborate with a variety of personnel levels and functional groups. Ability to demonstrate practical applications and flexibility in adapting programs and services to meet specific customer requirements. Solid organizational skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of professionals in a learning environment.

  • Assists with the facility, volunteer instructors and staff management with direct oversight in the Associate Director's absence. Participates in projects and committees as assigned. Completes additional work tasks and duties as assigned.Occupational Demands Form # 3: Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Frequently walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Periodically drives to site locations and travels within the United States. Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues.
