Grifols Shared Services North America, Inc Filling Support Specialist I/II in Clayton, North Carolina

This position will provide QC environmental monitoring support during production filling activities. This position will be responsible for the collection of all required EM samples in the aseptic production areas associated with each assigned production fill activity. This position will also be responsible for observing and documenting all intrusions into the Class A core areas during each fill to verify that the intrusions are made according to established procedures. This position requires tasks to be performed in a cleanroom environment using acquired aseptic techniques and aseptic cleanroom gowning.

Responsibilities include:

● Perform microbial/bioburden sampling of all Class A/B/C filling areas associated with a fill (before/during/after) including active viable air, settling plates, surfaces, and particulate monitoring.

● Perform Personnel Monitoring of fill room personnel

● Deliver samples and associated completed paperwork to QC Biologist for transport and check in to lab

● Print PMS (Particle Monitoring System) reports at the conclusion of each production fill.

●Observe and document intrusions into the Class A core filling areas during each production fill

● Document PMS alarms that may occur during each production fill and assist with immediate cause investigation.

● Perform Initial checks of the PMS after equipment startup by production to confirm that the PMS is operating correctly.

Additional responsibilities for a Specialist II:

Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on all responsibilities of the QC Filling Support Specialist I. Assists with training of new QC Filling Support Specialists.

Requirements for a Specialist I level:

Must be able to pass aseptic gowning certification and work extended periods inside a gowned aseptic environment. Must become trained on established EM sampling procedures.

HS Diploma plus a Bio Works Certificate or 1 year pharmaceutical aseptic experience, or 2 year / 4 year degree in a relevant curriculum with no experience.

Requirements for a Specialist II level:

Proficient with the Knowledge and skills obtained from typically 1 year experience at the QC Filling Support Specialist I position.

HS Diploma plus a Bio Works Certificate or 1 year pharmaceutical aseptic experience, or 2 year / 4 year degree in a relevant curriculum with no experience.

SHIFT: 2nd Shift (2:00PM-10:30PM)

Work is performed in an office and a laboratory/manufacturing environment or warehouse. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to occasional extreme cold below 32

  • in production areas. Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves. Work is performed sitting or standing for 2-4 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 35lbs. Occasionally walks, bends and twists neck and waist, may reach above or below shoulder height. Frequent foot movements. Color perception/discrimination and near vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye. Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken and written words and sentences. Performs tasks by following a set of written or oral instructions/procedures.
