The Senior Supply Planner will be responsible for developing, executing, maintaining and reporting on a supply plan that optimizes the utilization of raw material and manufacturing resources (people, plant, processes) to ensure on-time availability of products to support Sales while meeting Operational targets. The position ensures effective planning, compliance to company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements (ie. cGMP, GAAP), and directs continuous improvement within areas of responsibility. Other key responsibilities include analyzing data and making recommendations to achieve profitability, customer coverage, and inventory goals. This position will be based primarily in Grifols Worldwide Operations Ltd., Grange Castle Business Park, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 with some travel expected to our headquarters in Barcelona, Spain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Work closely with factory planners to develop, prioritize, and manage monthly supply plan and production activity levels in support of business forecast and operational targets, including establishing lead times, lot sizes, appropriate product mix, and safety stocks.

  2. Develop, execute, maintain and report on detailed supply and demand inventory balance, and/or supply plan achievements against budget and/or approved revised plans for all products, manufactured or processed through Grifols multiple Bioscience locations.

  3. Participate in and support implementation of a singular Grifols global integrated business planning process to deliver seamless supply chain management solutions to the organization in terms of cost, time and service.

  4. Coordinates the tracking and release of all final container lots to ensure that the products needed to meet Sales are released on a timely basis. Follow up on past due elements to resolve issues, and escalate as appropriate.

  5. Provides weekly and monthly updates on the release of all final container products and maintains communication with the Global Demand group in that regard.

  6. Manage and report on inventory for assigned categories, including monitoring quantity, movement pattern, days and dollar levels.

  7. Assure integrity of inventory and inventory levels using analytics to detect issues and risks which may impact ability to supply, operational economics and/or compliance. Review, initiate and execute corrective action including implementing best practices.

  8. Develop and report on KPIs including material and product aging, at-risk batches, batch release cycle time; identify and rectify issues, and/or recommend solutions for improvement.

  9. Review operational capacity constraints and plans on a regular basis and report on issues, risks and recommend solutions for remediation.

  10. Coordinate with factories to maintain data integrity for planning master data in company’s ERP system, including material master, info records, Bills of Material, routes, etc.

  11. Initiate, organize and lead process / continuous improvement project teams.

  12. Maintain a quality presence to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

  13. Maintain current knowledge of regulatory and industry standards.

  14. Generate thorough written reports, when required, that summarize investigations performed for out-of-specification results or out-of-procedure events.

  15. Participate in regulatory and internal inspections/audits including providing written responses as applicable for area of responsibility.


  1. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, Science, or closely related discipline is required. CPIM certification is preferred. Master’s degree in the same fields or closely related discipline is preferred.

  2. Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing planning, forecasting, or related experience in supply chain methodologies is required, preferably in a pharmaceutical, GMP, or FDA / EU regulated environment.

  3. Requires an in depth understanding of the fundamentals of planning and inventory control. Lean, Six Sigma, exposure to theory of constraints preferred.

  4. Demonstrated strong technical skills in ERP navigation and reports. Specific experience with SAP is preferred.

  5. Demonstrated ability to inspire high performance in others and align team members around shared goals.

  6. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide, train, coach and develop department personnel.

  7. Demonstrated project management skills.

  8. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of cGMPs, FDA regulations, and industry guidelines.

  9. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make structured decisions on a routine basis.

  10. Must be proactive, results oriented, and have strong attention to detail.

  11. Self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to exercise good judgment.

  12. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet targeted deadlines.

  13. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personnel at all levels in a team environment.

  14. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Bilingual Spanish a plus.

  15. Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
