Position Overview:

This position is responsible for conducting Global Supply Chain Planning/Buying activities and leading activities related to S&OP meetings and other supply chain-focused processes. Also, this position is responsible for making decisions related to product and MRO planning in order to achieve the desired customer service level while balancing the company’s financial interests. The position interfaces with a variety of internal stakeholders and partners as well as external partners to achieve results within a GMP environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

(30%) Working with minimal supervision, monitor production planning/ processes/ standards and develop mechanisms to proactively identify issues impacting achievement of desired results. Lead cross-functional efforts to resolve production/inventory planning related issues.

  • Use quantitative tools (MRP, Excel) to identify issues and quantify their impact to the business

  • Assemble and lead appropriate players in identification of root cause issues and development of recovery plans

  • Implement effective countermeasures to address key failure modes

  • Develop and recommend appropriate inventory strategies for products that balance customer service and financial obligations

  • Manage relationships with key suppliers to include discussion of key performance indicators and continuous improvement opportunities

  • Meet/exceed inventory management key performance indicators as well as support overall SCM strategic objectives by providing project management support

  • Provide knowledge leadership to junior team members

(20%) Work with a variety of departments to assemble available business factors to develop strategy-driven production schedules or purchase plans

  • Work with key internal partners (Finance, Manufacturing, Quality) and senior management to obtain relevant business factors to develop inventory strategies (10%) Use data and quantitative analysis to provide high quality decision support and make appropriate recommendations to senior management team.

  • Perform quantitative analysis to derive appropriate build plans that achieve desired customer service levels and working capital investment

  • Develop models and tools to support business decisions

  • Create, monitor and drive adherence to key KPIs(10%) Effectively communicate and maintain visibility to Raw Material and Finished Good inventory strategies and related business priorities, and production plans

  • Establish and manage to inventory strategy for all GMP materials

  • Maintain transparency between strategy and build or purchase plans

  • Develop effective communication methods and tools to maintain cross-functional alignment; maintain strong relationships and links internal and external (vendors)(10%) Lead and support continuous improvement efforts and projects

  • Identify and drive improvements to supply chain and related processes

  • Serve as SCM lead on key development activities (10%) Maintain SAP system integrity and data

  • Manage all transactions with 3 rd party warehouses (i.e. goods receipt, cycle counts, returns)

  • Maintain system data related to manufactured and purchased part parameters to ensure system efficacy and inventory accuracy

  • Create and maintain purchase requisitions and purchase orders in SAP

  • Create and maintain planned, firm planned and production orders in SAP for internal and external operations

(5%) Lead coordination and closure of quality system events as required (including: deviations, CAPA’s, and change controls)

(5%) Perform other duties as requested by management

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or relevant fields, advanced degree desirable

  • 5+ years practical experience in operations environment, of which at least 5 years spent in supply chain-related function (planning/purchasing, /or distribution/logistics)

  • Extensive experience on planning and inventory mgmt., supply chain best practices

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply results to resolve business issues

  • Demonstrated familiarity with cGMP and ISO requirements

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Demonstrate orientation to achieving results, maintaining an eye for detail and organization

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams/ projects

  • Demonstrated project management and execution skills

  • Extensive functional knowledge of SAP

  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently

  • Advanced skills in Excel

  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project

  • Experience in a global team desirable

  • APICS certification desirable

Work is performed in an office and/or a laboratory/manufacturing environment or plasma center. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to electrical office equipment. Exposure to extreme cold below 32
