The selected candidate will perform assays in support of research and development activities in the manufacture of biological products. The selected candidate may also represent Bioanalytics in project team meetings and will be responsible for completing key project tasks as well as author protocols and final reports to support characterization studies.

Shift: 1st shift - 7:00AM - 3:30PM

Note: This position is located in Research Triangle Park, NC

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • The candidate must have strong scientific understanding of the test methods being performed as well as the products/intermediates being tested. cGXP, analytical testing, and data review experience are required.

  • Independently executes analytical tests to ensure that test results are released in a timely manner.

  • The candidate will perform accurate technical/GXP review of other operators work and can interpret /understand trends in test results and standards/control data. Reviews and approves test records or lot packets for release.

  • The candidate may represent Bioanalytics in team meetings and complete action items as needed for key project deliverables. Coordinates their test schedules to maintain maximum efficiency and productivity and to meet project timelines. Prioritizes own or departmental goals to ensure alignment of day to day activities with long term strategies.

  • Values and promotes diversity within teams and capitalizes on broad perspectives to improve team results and achieve group objectives. Maintains good Company and interdepartmental relations through cooperation and effective communication with on-site personnel, off-site employees, and vendor representatives.

  • Maintains their competency to perform test procedures and report test results promptly and accurately.

  • The candidate independently executes analytical tests, analyzes data, and authors technical reports. The individual will also assist in method validation execution, IOQ execution and small study execution.


  • The ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

  • cGXP experience in an analytical testing laboratory. Experience in the use of modern instrumental analytical techniques including but not limited to potency assays, coagulation assays, enzymatic assays, immunoassays, chromatography (HPLC, GC, IC), capillary electrophoresis, and agarose membrane electrophoresis, AA spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy. Experience with Empower data acquisition software is a plus.

  • Previous data review and instrument troubleshooting experience, as the candidate must be able to recognize aberrant results and initiate investigations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. The candidate will participate in moderate to extensive problem solving which requires original thought and must effectively interact with scientific and non-scientific personnel.

  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to exercise good judgment.

  • Proactive, results oriented, organized, able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet targeted timelines, and strong attention to detail.

  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


Bachelors of Science Degree in a relevant field of study (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Toxicology) with 5 + years’ of relevant cGXP laboratory experience, or a Master’s of Science Degree in a relevant field of study (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Toxicology) with 3+ years’ of relevant cGXP laboratory experience.

Work is performed in a clinical and/or a laboratory environment. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to electrical office equipment. Exposure to chemicals. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves. Frequently sits and bends neck for 4-6 hours per day. May stand and twist neck for 2-4 hours per day. Occasionally walks, bends and twists waist and squats. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. Moderate lifting of 15-30lbs. with a maximum lift of 35 lbs. May reach above and below shoulder height. Color perception/discrimination, near vision and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye. Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Frequently works with diverse groups to obtain consensus on complex issues. Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues. Performs a wide range of complex tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence.
