The Sr. Corporate Communication Specialist is a multi-functional role within the Global Corporate Communications Department. As part of this role, the Sr. Specialist will support and lead comprehensive communication efforts that build awareness of the Grifols brand among external and internal audiences. The Sr. Specialist will lead internal/external content development across multiple channels, event planning/execution, development and management of campaigns with a special emphasis on key initiatives and corporate wide programs, and other communications tasks and activities as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Serves as an active member of the Corporate Communications Team, providing creative brainstorming and problem solving for multiple internal and external projects.

  2. Builds strong relationships with key external stakeholders to build external brand awareness.

  3. Supports organizational public relations activities including media interviews, press releases and other items as they arise.

  4. Accurate and timely review and distribution of information, including routine announcements, urgent and crisis communications.

  5. Devises and implements communications, marketing, and/or public relations strategies to promote and publicize a variety of departmental projects, services or programs.

  6. Develops and executes internal communication plans, strategic initiatives and creative campaigns to inform and engage employees.

  7. Serves as liaison with other business areas (HR, IT, etc.) to identify and or respond to content needs and assist with creation; development and execution strategies that help build brand commitment and engagement for key company initiatives.

  8. Content development that aligns to company’s strategic goals, including: e-mails, website, social media, internal communication, press-releases, and corporate materials.

  9. Collaborates with design team to meet communication needs.

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or closely related field is required.

  2. Minimum of 5 years related corporate communications experience is required, preferably in a pharmaceutical or healthcare environment.

  3. Equivalency: Candidate must have a Master’s degree, and a minimum of 3 years of related corporate communications experience.

  4. Basic knowledge of print, intranet, and electronic production methods is required.

  5. Knowledge of brand guidelines and how to apply them to content and collateral development.

  6. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong networks and relationships.

  7. Self-starter, able to drive high volume of work to completion with minimum input.

  8. Must be proactive, results oriented, and have strong attention to detail.

  9. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet targeted deadlines.

  10. Excellent project planning, management, execution, and record-keeping skills

  11. Independent, on-time, and on-budget planning and execution of all assigned projects.

  12. Must be able to demonstrate impeccable judgment, intellectual curiosity and strategic thinking.

  13. Ability to stay professional and flexible in a dynamic and changing environment.

  14. Must be able to learn and develop sufficient knowledge of the company's business and priorities to ensure accurate, on-message content.

  15. Ability to provide others with direction and training on processes, guidelines, policies, branding, and distribution lists related to assigned areas.

  16. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.

  17. Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


  1. Manual dexterity to perform all job functions.

  2. Ability to lift /move up to 25 pounds.

  3. Ability to sit for extended periods - up to four (4) hours at a time.
