Under minimum supervision, the Systems Technician, maintains, repairs, installs, and upgrades automated equipment and systems in a pharmaceutical/biomedical environment.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Determine corrective actions when responding to equipment trouble calls.

  • Communicate to relevant manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance parties the status of equipment-systems and time frame required to complete maintenance tasks

  • Performs both scheduled and unplanned work on a wide variety of electrical, electro-mechanical, controller and PLC based equipment and systems

  • Supports implementation of upgrades and new engineering/maintenance projects

  • Takes necessary steps to correct or report equipment malfunctions or unsafe operational practices

  • Take proactive steps to correct and/or report equipment and systems issues, as well as safety concerns

  • Takes necessary actions to ensure equipment and/or environment is safe and consistent with relevant laws, codes and/or governing policies.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have minimum of High School diploma or GED. Trade School, Vocational Certificate, Associates Degree, or Military training in related field is highly preferred

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience maintaining automated manufacturing systems and equipment, or 1 year of experience with a 2 year relevant degree.

  • Knowledge and maintenance experience in robotics, PLCs, PLC networks, drives, motor controls, sensors, automation components, control instrumentation, proportional valves, servo controls, SCADA, HMI, etc.

  • Experience with software interfacing to PLC’s, VFD’s, HMI, SCADA for troubleshooting and program and or configuration modification, etc.

  • Strong plus if trained and experienced in the use of Alan Bradley RSLogics 5000, and Siemens 7, FIX and or Wonderware SCADA, etc.

  • Must be able to troubleshoot from electrical drawings and PLC program documentation, as well as with limited or no documentation Knowledge of and ability to interpret electrical codes in order to help meet compliance/legal/safety requirements Knowledge and experience in the use of hand tools, personal safety equipment and electronic measurement tools including AVO meter, Meggar, circuit tracer, signal generator, etc.

  • Ability to use power tools and shop equipment Strong plus if experience in pharmaceutical maintenance, including clean room equipment, freeze dryers, filling machines, vial washers, CIP and SIP, clean steam generator, heat-cool systems, autoclaves, etc.

  • Ability to interact, lead, and support associates in a professional manner Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Positive attitude to work in fast paced, team oriented environment Good verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office applications; Salesforce; Project Management tools.
