The Italy Sales Director will be responsible delivering the sales performance for the territory. Managing the national field-based sales force and commercial operations through the leadership of individuals and teams. His or her responsibilities include developing effective sales resource allocation processes and strategy, implementing schemes for sales force motivation, compensation and development programs, and crystallizing and disbursing sales best practices. This deeply experienced sales manager and leader possesses a keen understanding of the Diagnostics product market in the country and has a proven record of effectively balancing the demands of multiple internal and external customers while achieving a high ROI on sales resources.

What your responsibilities will be

  • You will drive top-line sales performance for the Grifols diagnostic division product lines through effective coordination, training and allocation of Country field force resources and personnel.

  • You are going to work collaboratively with the Sales Director Diagnostics, Director of Marketing, Head of Technical Services (Other functions involved) and manage sales resource demands.

  • Establish coherent and state-of-the art sales strategy and tactics for the territory, taking into account competitive intelligence regarding sales practices, as well as lessons from broader organizations.

  • Ensure the development of pre-launch sales plans for all new products within the Diagnostics planning horizon. Optimizing processes and delivering accurate sales on-going sales forecasts.

  • You will optimize the sales group and sales field force structure to support the emerging needs of the territory and allocate resources in accordance with regional priorities.

  • Manage sales-force motivation, working closely with regional/local HR to articulate effectively the strategy for recording and improving sales processes.

  • Build sales force capabilities, working with regional/local HR, local and regional resources to create a curriculum of training and development programs.

  • Lead the Country Manager team on all people management issues and working with regional/local HR on high-level selection, retention, and development processes.

  • Key interfaces (beyond line management) include: Regional & Global Marketing, Regional Technical Service (GS&T), Regional Finance, Regional Supply Chain(s), Regional Quality, Legal support, Regional and Country HR and the regional / local COS organization.

Who you are

  • You have extensive sales and sales leadership experience (4+ years), ideally garnered in local as well as international roles (desirable).

  • Demonstrated success in (Diagnostics) sales-leadership roles.

  • Degree in relevant subject or Professional Qualification. MBA preferred.

  • Italian – Fluent/Native.

  • English – Fluent Business Level.

  • Second European language e.g. Spanish, French/German a ‘plus’.

  • Outstanding leadership ability, including ability to motivate associates with different backgrounds and skill levels.

  • Outstanding level of drive, and the ability to juggle multiple projects effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills.
