Position Overview:

In this rapidly evolving healthcare environment that is increasingly focused on cost, patient outcomes, and customer satisfaction, Grifols is committed to further building the payer access team. This role will be US office-based and will be responsible for all personal and non-personal promotional efforts that will effectively communicate the value of Grifols and its products and services to health plans for the benefit of their members (patients) . They will conceive, develop, and implement the payer customer experience in close partnership with the managed markets team, brand marketing teams, health outcomes, medical affairs, public affairs, and customer-facing field teams and ensure effective coordination of the strategic imperatives for each brand. The associate/deputy director will develop payer messaging and oversee the tactical implementation of branded sales/promotional tools, convention/symposia, web strategy, and market research and launch planning). This individual must understand the complexities of the US health care system with a specific focus on commercial payers, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), and organized providers (IDNs and ACOs) and know how to build appropriate compelling customer-focused value-propositions for each strategic brand within Grifols. The candidate will report directly to the Vice President of Marketing for the bioscience division.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

● Develop the U.S. market access strategy for the US Bioscience portfolio

● Work closely with internal market access partners and cross-functional stakeholders to develop, align and implement the U.S. annual strategic and tactical business plans

● Collaborate with brand marketing, medical, HEOR, pricing & contracting, trade, account management, advocacy, public policy and other functions to align payer insights, develop access strategy/tactics and implement business plans to achieve access goals

● Manage promotional budgets, and develop metrics to measure ROI against key initiatives

● Contribute to the strategic direction of each therapeutic area through active participation at senior levels to determine U.S. strategies for assets and disease areas

● Keep abreast of the trends of the pricing, reimbursement and market access landscape, and develop proactive strategies in anticipation of these trends

● Recommend and manage various market access research initiatives, collect and integrate payer/market insights to inform brand strategy; specifically reimbursement trends, competitive landscape, and therapeutic category utilization management approaches

● Develop appropriate programs, tools, and communication materials to effectively address payers' needs to render informed coverage decisions, as well as overall approach to therapeutic class management

● Effectively translate results of health economics and other research into clear and concise messages for specific internal and external audience consumption that highlight the value of specific products and applications

● Develop field-level data tools, analytic capabilities and pull-through efforts to enhance local business planning and execution effectiveness

Skills/Qualifications/Education Requirements: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • A Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA and/or relevant graduate degree preferred

  • 3 or more years of pharmaceutical industry experience, or equivalent, with minimum 3-5 years of marketing experience required

  • In-depth knowledge & understanding of US payer system and reimbursement challenges and opportunities required

  • Previous experience working with trade and/or payer teams a plus

  • Experience in solving complex biologic and/or rare disease access challenges

  • Ability to connect commercial, financial, and clinical perspectives to develop compelling value messages and strategies

  • Understanding of commercialization process and reimbursement integration points

  • Strong collaborator with an ability to work cross-functionally to achieve results

  • Creative ability to appropriately represent and convey value messages

  • Ability to assess, manage and drive results through agency partners

  • Experience in guiding and integrating digital analytics and driving metrics based optimization strongly preferred

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Frequently walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Frequently drives to site locations and frequently travels within the United States. Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues. Performs a wide range of complex tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence.
