Position Overview:

As governmental oversight of the industry continues/increases and in alignment with the company's values, this position within Grifols USA, LLC helps decrease the risk of violative, misleading, and/or nonprofessional promotional and educational content and any associated penalties. The editor role supports the legal, medical, and regulatory promotional review/approval process (Grifols Review Process or GRP). This effort ensures that promotional and educational materials produced by Grifols are compliant with stringent federal, state, and company regulations and policies. Violation of these regulations/policies can result in the communication of inaccurate/misleading statements and/or unprofessional/inconsistent presentation of content. The editor ensures consistent standards of review, spelling and grammatical accuracy of content, validation of references and trademarks, resolution of editorial issues deriving from GRP review, and documentation and archival of GRP decisions.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Reviews, in advance of standing and ad hoc GRP meetings, materials submitted for GRP review. Elements of this review include adherence of materials to product/company brand-presentation requirements, correctness of spelling and grammar, verification of quotations from references, compliance of reference lists/bibiliographies to AMA Manual of Style, content clarity, and content compliance with established brand stylebooks.

  2. Facilitates GRP meetings. Accurately documents revisions required by GRP reviewers. Secures agreement and signatures of GRP members.

  3. Receives submissions from Agencies/Project Initiators, reviews for completeness, creates and distributes GRP agendas.

  4. Resolves any editorial content issues remaining after GRP meetings. Communicates GRP decisions to Agencies/Project Initiators. Serves as point-of-contact for agency questions.

  5. Reviews post-LMR submissions of revised materials. Ensures content reflects all GRP-required revisions as well as overall intent of GRP.

  6. Creates, maintains, updates, and distributes all documentation related to editorial processes.

  7. Serves as backup for Manager of Commercial Services.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

• Minimum of 3 – 5 years working with promotional materials with knowledge of graphic arts and print production principles

• Command of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntactic rules of the English language.

• Knowledge of medical/pharmaceutical/scientific terminology/data.

• Excellent planning and organization skills; attention to detail to ensure high-quality, error-free work.

• Excellent interpersonal and meeting skills; ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with others individually and in a meeting environment.

• Experience with federal regulations governing pharmaceutical advertising and AMA rules of style

• Ability to work well under pressure, adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and ambiguity, and adhere to deadlines.

• Ability to identify resources (personal contacts, library, Internet, other references) for resolution of content discrepancies.

• Working knowledge of pharmaceutical advertising industry issues.

• Proficiency in the use of Adobe Acrobat Professional.

• Equivalency – Pharmaceutical Editors, Journal/Book Editors, Communications Professionals, Journalists, English Teachers

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Occasionally walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Occasional travel within the United States and Canada.
