Summary

Reporting directly to the SVP, Global Marketing, the NA Biopharma Marketing VP will be a member of the Global Marketing leadership team, and partner with extended business leaders across the Grifols organization, to establish, develop and support a rare disease marketing center of excellence. Main responsibility will be to lead the transformation of biologics into differentiated brands providing unique solutions to diagnose, treat and support rare disease patients.

The VP, NA Biopharma Marketing will be responsible for the NA Marketing Team optimizing current Grifols in-line therapeutic area assets across the long-range planning period. This role will engage cross functionally with necessary partnering critical for strategic business planning, tactical execution and overall performance of in line marketed brands. The role will also provide insights and collaborate with the Launch and Life Cycle Management Team as Grifols expands therapeutic and target product profiles for the North American Market.

In this highly visible key leadership role, the successful candidate will be an experienced marketing leader who demonstrates a forward thinking and results-driven approach with executive presence, exceptional leadership/communication skills, cross collaboration mentality and positive engagement. They will also have a passion for the therapeutic areas and rare disease patients Grifols serves.

North America Biopharma Marketing will lead in-line brand and portfolio management including positioning, message platforms, strategic planning, LRP forecast and brand growth/performance. With the unique competitive environment, a critical component is a high level of clinical acumen to engage thought leaders and key stakeholders to truncate time to diagnosis and treatment across the therapeutic portfolio.

Business Acumen

  • Plasma Economics

  • Apply strong working knowledge of plasma economics and supply impacts to brand planning.

  • Lead critical thinking regarding plasma competitive landscape dynamics and impacts.

  • Forecasting, Demand/Supply Planning and Distribution

  • Generate demand forecast with attention to financial impacts and inventory/supply chain management planning.

  • Ensure marketing team delivers customer demand/pull through predictions aligned with Ex-Factory expectations to meet/exceed specified budget and growth targets.

  • P&L Management

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the drivers of financial statements and concepts, with an ability to contribute to and support strategic company-wide resource allocations.

  • Lead NA OPEX and S&M allocation decisions to drive growth and manage P&L.

Customer Journey and Engagement

  • Customer and KOL knowledge and engagement

  • Advance the understanding of the customer journey across all therapeutic areas and in-line brand teams; apply current insights and future trends to strategic planning.

  • Develop the therapeutic area customer relationship and influence mapping, utilize a multi-disciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment.

  • Establish key opinion leader partnering with a high level of clinical, scientific and forward-thinking engagement to understand insights and develop treatment guidance/solutions.

  • Multi-channel approaches

  • Understand customer engagement channels and engage cross functionally to incorporate cutting edge digital and multi-channel marketing approaches across the customer engagement continuum

  • Ensure brand initiatives mobilize behavior with measurable results.

Marketing Management

  • Rare disease strategic brand planning, positioning and messaging

  • Lead the NA Biopharma therapeutic in-line brand strategic and long-range planning process (1-5 year horizon), ensuring all in-line brands have a solid and disciplined strategic, tactical and execution plan for success.

  • Incorporate the Voice of Customer (VoC) and Voice of Patient (VoP) in brand strategic and tactical planning, utilize market research insights and data sources to support business decisions.

  • Ensure high-level collaboration with the Life Cycle therapeutic teams to align strategic objectives for in-line target product profiles, and to provide input to expand therapeutic area opportunities.

  • Launch planning and execution

  • Within the 18-24 month pre-launch timeframe, lead the transformation from biologic to brand strategic planning, including market development, positioning, messaging, forecasting, KOL engagement, content development and sales team preparation.

  • Partner with the NA Managed Markets Team to remove barriers to access and ensure competitive near and long term pricing, contracting and payer strategies.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred

  • Typically requires a minimum of 15 years of experience in the biopharma/bioscience industry.

  • Proven ability to strategically lead and develop a team of marketers, and collaborate with matrix team/partners.

  • Demonstrated successful brand/therapeutic area strategic planning, results and stretch objective achievement.

Preferred Background:

  • Comprehensive understanding of rare disease marketing, pricing, forecasting and business strategy.

  • Knowledge of plasma protein manufacturing, supply management, market access and distribution.

  • Therapeutic area and market expertise for Grifols products and franchises.

  • Demonstrated success collaborating across life cycle management and launch teams.

  • Experience in innovative multi-channel approaches and evolving technology for accelerating diagnosis.

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Frequently walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Frequently drives to site locations and frequently travels within the United States.
