A leader in transfusion medicine, the Diagnostic Division is a global business focused on providing innovative solutions to help ensure the safety of the blood and plasma supply, detect human diseases and monitor therapies. The division advances patient care with diagnostic solutions to improve disease detection and management, and simplify laboratory operations.

This position will be responsible for managing the development, planning, and implementation of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new or existing products or technologies.

Primary responsibilities for role:

  • Manage a large department or a few small departments through supervisors and leads.

  • Ensure the department(s) are staffed and personnel are evaluated and trained.

  • Maintain a safe working environment and implement safety improvements.

  • Ensure departments meet applicable QSR, CFR 21 and ISO 13485 regulations, passes all inspections and audits.

  • Recommend and implement cost savings projects.

  • Establish departments objectives and makes recommendations.

  • Prepare and control annual budget.

  • Develop and/or oversees the maintenance of complex manufacturing schedules.

  • Work directly with Planning to develop and implement Master Production schedules as needed to meet demands.

  • Evaluate long-term capacity plans and makes recommendations on new equipment needs, etc.

  • Select or participate in the selection and purchase of new equipment.

  • May represent Grifols to internal and external customers.

  • May lead cross-function teams for various projects (CPI for example)

  • Must be able to manage diverse group of people with different strengths and skills.

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and delegate responsibilities while maintaining quality.

  • Detail-oriented

  • Excellent team building and project management skills

  • Must have knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems.

  • Must have a thorough understanding of GMP.

  • Must have direct experience with Lean, 5S, and Operational Excellence and developed team cultures to be competent in these areas.

  • Must have experience with SAP.

  • Experience writing SOPs

  • Proficient using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Education:

BA/BS/MS degree in chemistry, biology, engineering or related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 8+ years of GMP experience

Equivalency:

Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.
